B. General Information
Fireplaces, as well as other woodburning appliances, have
been used safely for many years. It has been our experi-
ence that most problems are caused by improper installa-
tion and operation of the replace. Make certain that instal-
lation and operation of the replace system is in accordance
with these instructions.
It is extremely important that the re be supervised when-
ever the replace is in use. It is also recommended that an
annual inspection be performed on the replace system to
determine if the ue system needs to be cleaned, or as in
the case of any appliance, if minor repairs are required to
maintain the system in top operating condition.

INCORRECT POSITIONS
Figure 2.3
Ensure correct bafe placement and replace bafe compo-
nents if damaged or missing.
Firebox damage due to improper bafe placement is not
covered by warranty. Operate the wood burning appliance
with the bafe in the correct position only. Not doing so
could result in:
• Reduced efciency
• Overheating the chimney
• Overheating the rear of the rebox
• Poor performance
Ceramic Blanket and Bafe Board MUST be in contact
with the back of the rebox and even with each other in
the front. Bafe Protection Channel MUST be in position.
The rebox of your replace is lined with high quality
rebrick, which has exceptional insulating properties.
Do Not use a grate; simply build a re on the rebox
oor. Do not operate the replace without bricks. Make
sure bricks are installed as shown in Section 4, page 24.
