COMPARE
The Compare (F3) function key displays a Stored Data screen,
(Figure 3-19), prompting the user to select a second saved screen
to display. The first and second screens will be displayed
simultaneously, the first in the normal Plot 1 color and the
second in the Plot 2 color, as selected in the Setup screens. See
the Setup section for details of selecting trace colors. A sample
Compare display is shown in Figure 3-24, displaying two traces
of the same cable with an intermittent fault shown at 170 feet.
The first trace shows a loss of only 5.5 dB (a very poor return
loss) and the second trace shows a return loss of 18.5 dB (much
better), thus indicating that a problem such as a loose or corroded
connecter likely exists at 188 feet down the cable under test.
Next and Adjust provide the same functions in the Compare
mode as in the normal Single Trace mode. Next will display the
next cable fault. Adjust will allow you to adjust the vertical and
horizontal scale.
