SET CABLE LENGTH
Use the Left/Right arrow keys to adjust the Cable Length
displayed to the length of the cable under test. The arrow keys
will increment or decrement the numbers displayed slowly when
first pressed. The step size of change will increase the longer the
key is pressed. For simple operation, hold down the key, noting
the step size as the numbers change. Release the key momentarily
when the number approaches the desired setting. This reduces
the step size. Then press the key for individual steps to fine-tune
the setting.
Measure VOP - Once the test cable’s length is set and
connected to the CE4000, press the Find VOP (F1)
function key. The CE4000 will calculate and display
the Cable VOP (Figure 2-8).
Measure LEN - The Cable Test mode can also be used
to make quick cable length measurements by setting
the VOP and pressing the Find LEN (F2) function key.
The CE4000 will calculate and display the cable length
(Figure 2-8).
Save - Be sure to save the information if you want to
use the measured VOP for subsequent cable tests.
Press Save (F4) to display the screen shown in Figure
2-9. You must enter a cable type and manufacture in
this screen for the information to be saved.
