A barbecuegrillbecomeshotduringuse. Itis necessaryto useprotectivegloveswhenoperatingcontrolknobs,LP. cylindershut-offknobor
lid handle. DO NOTtouchcastings,glassandgrids.
DONOTdisposeof unusedpropanegasby openingthe LP.cylindervalveandventingvaporintothe atmosphere.Instead,takethe cylinder
to yourpropanegassupplier.
Be sureto tightenupall hardware(screws,nuts, bolts,etc.)atleastoncea year or eachgrillingseason.
CONDITIONTHE GRILL
' Vegetableoil can be usedtocoatandpreservethe internalgrids,burnerandmetalpartswhile instorage.
, Beforeusingthe grillforthefirst timeor afterstorage,operategrillwithlid closedon highsettingfor 15minutesto burnawayoil.
Oncethe oil hasburntaway,checktheburnerflamepernextstep.
THE BURNERFLAME
, Keepthe grill lidclosedandthecookingsurfacesin place.
, Observethe burner'sflamefrombelowthegrillbottomor bylookingthroughthematchlightinghole. (Fig.26)
, Flamesshouldappearsimilarto thegoodflameshownin Fig.26aandasfollows:
[] A goodflameshouldbe bluewith someyellowtip comingfromthe burnerholes.
[] Someyellowtips onflamesupto 1"in lengthareacceptableaslongas nocarbonorsootdepositsappear.
[] Ifflamesare excessivelyyellowandirregular,the oilresiduemaynotbe completelyburnedoff or theventurimaybecloggedor may
notbe properlypositionedovertheorifices. Allowgrillto coolbeforere-positmningventudovervalveandOrifices.
[] Grillsthathavebeenin useforawhilesometimesbeginto havemoreyellowflame.Abu d-upof fooddeposits,fatsorcookingseasoningscan
