IMPORTANT:
Do not leave the selector switch in the REMOTE
or ON position when the pilot is not lit. This will drain the
battery.

Note:
The receiver and hand-held remote control kit must be
purchased separately (see Accessories, page 33). Follow installa-
tion instructions on page 10 ot this manual.
1. After lighting the pilot and setting the receiver to REMOTE.
2. Press the control button on the hand-held remote to turn
the burner on. Press the control button again to turn burner
off (see Figure 37).
3. TO LOCK press both buttons on hand-held remote control
until light stops fl ashing. Hand-held remote control is now
locked. If the fi re is on it will be turned off automatically.
In the locked state, the light will not light up when any
button is pressed.
4. TO UNLOCK press both buttons together on hand-held
remote control until the light stops fl asing, The hand-held
remote is now unlocked.

ON/OFF WALL MOUNTED SWITCH
WARNING:
Do not connect the appliance gas
controls to a 120 VAC power source. Damage or
injury may occur.
Light the fi replace as instructed in Lighting Instructions on
page 16. If using a HRC remote with a wall switch set the remote
selector switch switch to the ON position. See Figure 36.
The wall switch may now be used to turn the burner fl ame
ON and OFF.
To turn the fi replace off, turn the wall switch and /or remote
selector switch to the OFF position and turn the gas control
knob back to PILOT. The pilot will remain lit.
IMPORTANT:
To turn the pilot off, turn the gas control knob
on the heater to the OFF position.
OPTIONAL HAND-HELD
REMOTE OPERATION
Note:
All remote control accessories must be purchased sepa-
rately (see Accessories, page 33). Follow instructions included
with the remote control.
After lighting, let pilot fl ame burn for about one minute. Turn
control knob to ON position. Slide the selector switch to the
REMOTE position (see Figure 36).
Note:
The burner may light
if the hand-held remote was on when the selector switch was
last turned off. You can now turn the burner on and off with the
hand-held remote control unit.
NOTICE: You must light the pilot before using the hand-
held remote control unit. See
