Heater produces a whistling noise
when burner is lit
Glass soots
Fireplace produces a clicking/tick-
ing noise just after burners are lit
or shut off
Remote does not function
REMEDY
1. Turn gas control knob to LO
position and let warm up for a
minute
2. Operate burner until air is
removed from line. Have gas
line checked by local propane/
LP or natural gas company
3. Clean burner (see Cleaning
and Maintenance, page 31) or
replace burner orice
1. Inspect the opening at the base
of the burner by removing log/
grate assembly to see that it is
NOT packed with any type of
material [see Installing Brick
Liner Models BL36DA(SA)
and BL36DHA(SA), page 26]
for log/grate removal
2. Check vent conguration speci-
cations (see Venting Installa-
tion Instructions, page 9)
1. This is normal. If noise is
excessive, contact qualified
service person
1. Replace 9-volt batteries in
receiver and hand-held remote
