• Keephands,feet,face,longhairandclothingoutofinlet
anddischargearea.ThereareROTATINGBLADESinside
theseopenings.
• Beforecleaning,repairingorinspecting,makecertainall
movingpartscometoacompletestop.Disconnectspark
plugwireandkeepwireawayfromplugtopreventacciden-
talstarting.Keepthrottlecontrolleverinstopposition.
• IftheVacSystemshouldbecomeblockedwithdebrisatany
point,shutengineoffandwaituntiltheimpellercomestoa
completestopbeforeattemptingtoremovetheobstruction.
Disconnectsparkplugwiretopreventaccidentalstarting.
• Ifthecuttingmechanismstrikesaforeignobject,orifyour
VacSystemshouldstartto vibrateabnormally,stopthe
engineimmediately,disconnectthesparkplugwireand
movethewireawayfromthesparkplug.Allowthemachine
tostopandtakethefollowingsteps.
a. Inspectfordamage.
b. Repairorreplaceanydamagedparts.
c. Checkforloosepartsandtightentoassure
continuedsafeoperation.
• Checkallboltsfortightnessatfrequentintervalsto help
insuresafeoperation.
• Checktopcoverfrequentlyforwear.Replaceifwornor
damaged.
• NeveroperateVacSystemunlessdeckadapter,hose,
hoseadapter(nozzle),dischargechute(elbow),andtop
coverareproperlyattachedintheirplace.
• Donotremovetopcoverorattempttoemptycontentsof
cartwhileengineisrunning.
• Neverattempttochangehoseadapter(nozzle)ortoinstall
remotehoseattachmentwhenengineisrunning.
• Keepallshieldsandguards(e.g.dischargechute(elbow)
andhoseadapter(nozzle)inplaceandsecurelyattached.
• Alwayswearsafetyglassesorothersuitableeyeprotection
whenoperatingormaintainingthisequipment.
• Donotstandbehindcartinexhaustdischargeareawhile
engineisrunning.
• Donotoperatethisequipmentwhileintoxicatedorwhile
takingdrugsor medicationthatimpairsthesensesand
reactions.
• Whenusingthisequipment,startwiththevehicletransmis-
sioninfirst(low)gearandthengraduallyincreasespeed
onlyasconditionspermit.
• Operatethisequipmentatreducedspeedonroughterrain,
alongcreeksandditchesandonslopestopreventtipping
orlossofcontrol.Donotdrivetooclosetoacreekor ditch.
• Vehiclebrakingandstabilityareaffectedbytheadditionof
thisequipment.DonotfilltheVacSystemtoitsfullcapacity
withoutcheckingthecapabilityof thetowingvehicleto
safelypullandstopwiththeVacSystemattached.
• Beforeoperatingonanygrade(hill)refertothesafetyrules
inthevehicleowner'smanualconcerningsafeoperationon
slopes.AlsorefertotheSLOPEGUIDEonpage27ofthis
owner'smanual.Donotoperateonslopesinexcessof 10
