The Smart Thermostat function adjusts the fl ame height according
to the difference between the set temperature and the actual room
temperatures. As the room temperature gets closer to the set point
the Smart Function will automatically adjust the fl ame down.
1. Press the thermostat key unit the word “SMART” appears to the
right of the temperature bulb graphic.
2. To adjust the set temperature, press the Up/Down arrow keys
until the desired set temperature is displayed on the LCD screen
at the Transmitter.

FLAME HEIGHT
The remote control has six (6) fl ame levels. With the system on
and the fl ame level at the maximum, press the Down Arrow Key
once and it will reduce the fl ame height by one step until the fl ame
is turned off.
The Up Arrow Key will increase the fl ame height each time it is
pressed. If the Up Arrow Key is pressed while the system is on but
the fl ame is off, the fl ame will come on the high position. A single
“beep” will confi rm reception of the command.

HAND HELD REMOTE OPERATIONS
TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
The remote control can operate as a room thermostat. The thermostat
can be set to a desired temperature to control the comfort level in
the room.
1. Press the ON/OFF key on the transmitter, it controls all functions
of the remote. The transmitter display will show all active icons on
the screen. At the same time the receiver turns on the main burner
and a single “beep” from the receiver will confi rm reception of the
command.
2. Press the ON/OFF key on the transmitter. The transmitter LCD
display will only show the room temperature and icon. At the same
time the receiver will turn the burner off and the appliance burner
turns off. A single “beep” from the receiver confi rms reception of
the command.
ROOM THERMOSTAT
1. With the system in the “OFF” position, press the Thermostat Key
and the Mode Key at the same time to change the temperature from
Fahrenheit to Celsius.
2. Check the LCD screen on the Transmitter to verify that a C or F is
visible to the right of the Room Temperature display.
With the thermostat in the off mode, the fl ame height may be chosen
and the main burner left on, regardless of the room temperature. To
turn off the fl ame, either turn off the on/off key or reduce fl ame height
to the off position.

1. Press the Thermostat Key. The LCD display on the Transmitter
will show that the room is “ON” and the set temperature is now
displayed.
2. To adjust the set temperature, press the Up/Down Arrow Keys
until the desired set temperature is displayed on the LCD screen
of the Transmitter.
