Problem Possible Causes Soluon
Low heat / Low ame.
Improper preheang.
Not enough airow.
Low charcoal.
Improper charcoal
tray locaon.
Allow charcoal to burn unl covered with a light grey ash.
(usually 20-25min).
Open Vents.
Add more charcoal to the charcoal tray.
Raise charcoal tray to highest posion.
Excessive are-ups/uneven heat.
Improper preheang.
Excessive grease and
ash build up in ash/
drip pan.
Improper charcoal
tray locaon.
Preheat grill with lid closed for 20 - 25 mins.
Clean ash/drip pan regularly. Do not line pan with
aluminum foil. Refer to cleaning instrucons.
Lower charcoal tray to lowest posion.
“Paint” appears to be peeling inside
lid or hood.
Grease build up on
inside surfaces.
This is not a defect. The nish on the lid and hood is
stainless steel, and will not peel. The peeling is caused
by hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards
that will ake o. Regular cleaning will prevent this. See
cleaning instrucons.
