Clean the appliance

Clean the water trough and the grill
with a mild solution of warm water
and liquid dish liquid, then dry with a
soft cloth (see "Cleaning and care").

Wipe the other surfaces down with a
damp cloth and dry.
Heat the appliance
Metal components of the appliance
have a protective coating which may
give off a slight odor the first time the
appliance is heated.
The smell will dissipate after a short
time and does not indicate a faulty
connection or appliance defect.
