TROUBLESHOOTING
BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE
If the grill does not function properly, use the checklist below before contacting your dealer for service. You may
save yourself the cost of a service call.
PROBLEMS WHAT TO DO
Grill will not light when the control
knob is rotated.
Check to see if house NG valve is open.
Check to see if LP tank is empty.
Clean wire(s) and/or electrode with rubbing alcohol and a
clean swab.
Make sure the wire is connected to the electrode
assembly.
Check to see if other burners operate. If so, check the gas
orifice on the malfunctioning burner for an obstruction.
Burner flame is yellow or orange and
the gas odor is present.
Contact customer service at 1-800-554-5799.
Low heat with the knob on “HI”.
Check to see if the fuel hose is bent or kinked.
Make sure the grill area is clear of dust.
Check your gas supply and gas pressure.
If it is only one burner that appears low, make sure the
orifice or burner is clean.
INSECT WARNING
Spiders and insects can nest in the burners of
this and other grills, which could disrupt gas
flow. This dangerous condition could cause a
fire behind and beneath the valve panel,
damaging the grill and making it unsafe to
operate.
Inspect the grill at least twice a year.
WHEN TO LOOK FOR SPIDERS
You should inspect the burners twice a year or
immediately after any of the following conditions
occur:
1. The smell of gas in conjunction with the
burner flames appearing yellow.
2. The grill does not reach temperature.
3. The grill heats unevenly.
4. The burners make popping noises.
