Setup with Hose and Refillable Cylinder

Remove the plastic protective cap from the
shut-off plug. Install the shut-off plug into the
left fuel connection (Fig. 29 and 30).

Attach the 8’ accessory hose to the right side
connector on the Fireplace (Fig 31).

WARNING
• Read and follow all instructions and warnings
provided with your appliance.
• Do not store LP gas cylinders under or near
this appliance.
• Never fill the cylinder beyond 80% full.
• Failure to follow the above instructions
exactly may result in fire causing death or
serious injury.
• A disposable propane cylinder must not remain
connected to the fireplace when using the hose
and refillable cylinder. Install the shut-off plug
into the remaining fuel connection.
• When using extension hose always point the
cylinder valve toward the fuel inlet of the
appliance.
• Maintain proper clearances between cylinder and
appliance. The cylinder must be positioned with
60 inch clearance between the cylinder and the
inlet of the gas fireplace.
• Clean and inspect the hose before each use. If
there is evidence of abrasion, wear, cuts or leaks,
the hose must be replaced prior to use. The
replacement hose must be that specified by The
Coleman Company, Inc.
• Never alter in any way or use with any device or
part not expressly approved by Coleman.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• High Pressure Hose Extension R5071-522 is
only for use with Coleman gas fireplace model
5071. See your dealer or contact Coleman to
purchase the accessory hose.
• The LP-gas supply cylinder to be used must be
constructed and marked in accordance with the
specifications for LP-gas cylinders of the U.S.
Department of Transportation (DOT) or the
National Standard of Canada,
CAN/CSA B339,
cylinders, spheres and Tubes for the
Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
• If a refillable cylinder is used, it must have a
collar to protect the cylinder valve.
ASSEMBLING HIGH PRESSURE HOSE:
Attach the hose to the cylinder (Fig 32).

Open cylinder valve and perform leak check on
Hose to Regulator, and Hose to Cylinder con-
nections with soapy water. Bubbles indicate a
leak. Check that the connection is not cross-
threaded and that it is tight. Perform another
leak check. If there is still a leak, remove the
cylinder and contact Coleman for service or
repairs (Fig. 33 and 34).
