Question About Char-Broil Gas Grill 466231203

I just purchased 2 new cooking grids porcelain treated flat black matte finish for my grill. My last 2 the finish peeled and rusted, I heard you are supposed to treat or cure the grids with olive oil or cooking oil before using,and wanted to know how this is done?
